Early Life & Background
Arshdeep Singh was born on 5 February 1999 in Guna, Madhya Pradesh, into a Punjabi Jatt Sikh family. His father, Darshan Singh, served in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in Guna before becoming Chief Security Officer at DCM Ropar, while his mother, Baljit Kaur, managed the home. Soon after, the family relocated to Kharar near Chandigarh. As a child, he cycled nearly 13 km daily from Guru Nanak Public School in Chandigarh to Jaswant Rai’s cricket academy, where he began serious training at age 13.
From school ground gully games to early state-level representation, Arshdeep displayed dedication and raw talent from an early age.

At 6 ft 3in (1.91 m), Arshdeep combines height with smooth left-arm seam action, generating consistent swing and yorkers. He maintains a calm, tactical mindset—practicing yoga and meditation to sharpen his focus during high-pressure games.
Beyond cricket, he admits his love for Punjabi food, mobile games like PUBG, and spending relaxed time at home, showing he values balance alongside discipline.

Arshdeep remains single and close with his parents and siblings—older brother Akashdeep (Canada-based) and sister Gurleen. His father’s past cricket passion and unwavering support drove his early-day breakthroughs, while his mother personally chauffeured him to training sessions .

Youth & Domestic Career
Arshdeep excelled in junior cricket—from Katoch Shield through district and state tournaments—claiming 19 wickets in five matches during the DP Azad Trophy with Chandigarh. He progressed through Punjab’s Under-19 and Under-23 sides. Notably, in the CK Nayudu Trophy, he grabbed 8 wickets (including a hat-trick) followed by 10 in the same match.
His List A debut came for Punjab in Vijay Hazare Trophy on 19 Sept 2018, and First-class debut followed in Jan 2019 during the Ranji Trophy. He then featured in India’s U‑19 World Cup-winning squad (2018) and later earned selection for Emerging Asia Cup and India U‑23 side .

IPL Career
Arshdeep debuted in IPL with Kings XI Punjab in April 2019, ending as the team’s second-highest wicket-taker. He developed a reputation for expertly bowling yorkers and controlling death overs—boasting an economy rate of 7.7 in IPL 2022.
Following mega-auction in 2024, Punjab Kings used Right-to-Match to secure him at ₹18 crore—making him the most expensive Indian pacer. In IPL 2025, he remains a key asset for PBKS. His 3/16 effort vs LSG in Dharamsala propelled him to third on the Purple Cap leaderboard with 16 wickets in 10 games. PBKS now rely on him heavily as the bowling spearhead in a powerful attack.
