Lewis Hamilton has described his 2025 Formula 1 season with Ferrari as his “most intense” yet, while insisting the iconic Scuderia has everything needed to win championships again. The seven-time world champion switched from Mercedes to Ferrari ahead of the season, aiming for an eighth drivers’ crown and to help the team secure their first constructors’ title since 2008.
Hamilton’s time at Ferrari has been a mix of highs and lows — from clinching a Sprint pole and victory in China to a tough Hungary weekend where he admitted feeling “absolutely useless.” Despite the challenges, the Briton remains convinced Ferrari is on the right path.
“The team has every ingredient that they need to win World Championships,” Hamilton said when asked about his input since joining Ferrari. “It’s literally just about getting things all aligned and running smoothly and freely, stress-free, which we’re all trying to do.”
Adapting to a New Ferrari Culture
Hamilton admitted that integrating into a new culture and team has been far from smooth.
“This [season] has definitely been the most intense one, I would say, just from a work perspective,” he explained. “Integrating into a new culture, a new team, it’s not gone smoothly in all areas, and it’s been a real battle. I definitely need to get away and recharge, be around the kids and laugh. I’m sure there will be some tears at some point, and I think that’s really healthy.”
Belief in Ferrari’s Future
Despite the hurdles, Hamilton says he loves being “in red” and working alongside a team he sees as passionate and determined.
“I love what I do, I love being in red, I love working with this team, and I have such belief in this team,” he said. “Of course, I need to do most of that on track and I’m not always hitting that, but also in the background I see there’s things that we can always improve, and there’s things that I can improve.”
Hamilton is currently sixth in the Drivers’ Championship after 14 of 24 races, one spot behind teammate Charles Leclerc. Ferrari sits second in the constructors’ standings behind McLaren. With the summer break ahead, Hamilton believes the rest will be crucial for both himself and the team to come back stronger in the season’s second half.
