Argentina Dominate Puerto Rico in Friendly Clash
Argentina produced a commanding display against the 155th-ranked Puerto Rico. Lautaro Martinez and Alexis Mac Allister both netted twice in the convincing victory. Puerto Rico almost found a shock opener in the eighth minute when Leandro Antonetti’s ambitious attempt from distance nearly caught Emiliano Martinez off guard.
The match was part of Argentina’s build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in the US, Mexico, and Canada from June 11 to July 19. It also coincided with another statement from President Donald Trump, who again threatened to relocate World Cup matches.
