Joao Felix Joins Al-Nassr in €50M Transfer from ChelseaJoao Felix Joins Al-Nassr in €50M Transfer from Chelsea

Joao Felix has completed a permanent move from Chelsea to Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr. He has signed a two-year contract in a deal worth up to €50 million (£43.7 million). The agreement includes an initial fee of €30 million (£26.2 million) and €20 million (£17.5 million) in add-ons.

The 25-year-old Portugal international was once signed by Atletico Madrid for €113 million in 2019. That figure still ranks among the highest in football history.

Al-Nassr Beat Benfica to Land Joao Felix

Earlier this summer, Felix was linked with a return to Benfica. But Al-Nassr made a stronger offer and secured his signature. The Saudi club recently renewed Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract and hired Jorge Jesus as manager. They are clearly making a title push in both domestic and Asian competitions.

Chelsea agreed to the sale to raise funds for other signings. They are now targeting Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig. More incoming players will depend on further exits.

Felix joined Chelsea on loan in January 2023, before signing permanently in August 2024 for £46.3 million. Last season, he scored seven goals in 20 appearances. However, he never became a regular starter under the club’s evolving system.

New Start in Saudi Arabia After European Struggles

Despite playing for Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan, and Chelsea, consistency has been a challenge for Felix. Since leaving Benfica, he hasn’t scored more than 10 goals in a season.

Al-Nassr announced the signing on X (formerly Twitter), stating: “Let’s win together Joao Felix is a Nasraoui.”

In his welcome video, Felix said: “I’m here to have fun and win together.”

The transfer adds another major name to the Saudi Pro League. Al-Nassr continues to build a team capable of winning both domestically and across Asia.
