Manchester United are still pushing to sign Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba despite a price tag of over £115m. The Cameroon international remains one of their top summer targets. According to The Sun, “Manchester United continue to talk with Brighton star Carlos Baleba as they refuse to give up on a sensational deal.”
The 21-year-old is keen on moving to Old Trafford, but Brighton insist he is not for sale. Reports claim they may only consider a bid similar to the £115m they received for Moises Caicedo in 2023. “Man Utd are focusing on landing a new midfielder with Baleba… posing as a top target in the final few weeks of the summer market,” the outlet adds. Manager Ruben Amorim is eager to strengthen midfield after heavy investment in attack.
Jackson Wants Newcastle Move Amid Isak Transfer Uncertainty
Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson prefers a switch to Newcastle United if he leaves Stamford Bridge. The Telegraph states, “Nicolas Jackson favours a move to Newcastle United should he leave Chelsea during this transfer window.” Newcastle may move for Jackson if Alexander Isak departs. Liverpool’s £110m bid for Isak was rejected, but the Reds are reportedly still interested. Newcastle’s asking price is £150m, with three years left on Isak’s contract.
Jackson has told Chelsea he wants to leave and was left out of their friendly against Bayer Leverkusen. “It is believed that Jackson has told Chelsea he wants to go – they have agreed to sell,” the report adds. The 24-year-old has been training separately from the squad.
Chelsea Consider Nkunku-Xavi Simons Swap Deal with RB Leipzig
Chelsea are in talks with RB Leipzig over a potential Christopher Nkunku-Xavi Simons swap deal. As The Guardian reports, “Chelsea are in talks with RB Leipzig over a potential swap deal for Xavi Simons that could lead to Christopher Nkunku returning to the German club.”
Nkunku joined Chelsea from Leipzig in 2023 for £52m, but new signings Liam Delap and Joao Pedro have pushed him down the pecking order. Chelsea value Nkunku at £40m and are ready to add cash to land Simons, who has already agreed personal terms despite Bayern Munich’s interest.
Negotiations remain ongoing, with Chelsea keen to secure the versatile Netherlands forward before the transfer deadline.
