PSG Crush Inter Miami 4-0 in Club World Cup Clash

PSG Cruise Past Messi’s Inter Miami to Enter Club World Cup Quarters

Paris Saint-Germain dominated Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami with a commanding 4-0 win to book their spot in the Club World Cup quarter-finals on Sunday. The European giants showcased their class and depth, easily dismantling an Inter Miami side packed with veteran stars at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

PSG Too Strong for MLS Side

Despite fan expectations, Messi and his fellow ex-Barcelona teammates Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba couldn’t prevent a heavy defeat. PSG controlled the game from the opening whistle, pressing high and keeping Miami on the back foot throughout.

Joao Neves starred with a brace, opening the scoring early and adding a second after a costly error from Busquets. Tomas Aviles’ own goal and a late first-half strike from Achraf Hakimi sealed the result before the break.

First-Half Blitz from PSG

The first goal came in the 6th minute when Neves nodded in unmarked at the back post. Miami initially held firm but were undone by three goals in quick succession before halftime. Busquets lost possession in a dangerous area, and Neves pounced for his second. A misdirected clearance by Aviles and a rebound finish by Hakimi made it 4-0.

Messi Struggles to Make Impact

Lionel Messi was the center of attention, with the majority of the 66,000 fans donning pink Miami and Argentina jerseys. However, the 38-year-old struggled to influence proceedings against PSG’s relentless pressing.

In the second half, Messi created a golden opportunity for Suarez and tested goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma with a low shot, but couldn’t change the outcome. His trademark free-kick attempt late in the game struck the wall.

Miami’s Effort Praised Despite Loss

Despite the defeat, Jordi Alba praised the team’s tournament journey. “We exceeded expectations. We topped our group and faced the best team in the world,” he said. “In the second half, we played better and created more chances.”

Next Challenge for PSG

Luis Enrique’s side will now face either Bayern Munich or Flamengo in the quarter-finals on Saturday in Atlanta. With confidence running high, PSG will look to extend their dominance as they chase global glory.
