Saudi and Qatari Bidders Eye Manchester United TakeoverSaudi and Qatari Bidders Eye Manchester United Takeover

The Manchester United takeover story is heating up fast. Several investors, including Saudi and Qatari groups, have entered the race. The Sun reports that potential buyers also include Brooklyn Earick, Stephen Ross, Steve Ballmer, and MSP Sports Capital.

The paper writes: “Manchester United are once again being linked with a takeover as rumours swirl over a mystery bid. Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh claimed negotiations over a sale are at an ‘advanced stage’. Majority owners the Glazer family rejected a huge offer from Sheikh Jassim At Thani’s Qatar-based consortium almost two years ago. One possible option is a bid from the Saudis and Alalshikh himself.”

The Glazers now face intense pressure to sell. The growing interest from the Middle East adds more fuel to the takeover talks.

Arsenal Could Secure January Windfall

Arsenal may gain a financial boost in January. Juventus have shown strong interest in former player Brooke Norton-Cuffy. The right-back joined Genoa last year. Arsenal included a sell-on clause, which could bring in extra funds.

The Mirror explains: “Arsenal could be set for a transfer windfall without even selling a player in January. Former Gunners youngster Brooke Norton-Cuffy is being eyed for a massive possible move in the coming months. Norton-Cuffy, 21, left Arsenal for Genoa little over a year ago after loan spells with Lincoln City, Rotherham, Coventry and Millwall. And crucially, the north London side included a ‘sizable sell-on fee’ when they sold the youngster to the Serie A side. Tuttosport claim Juventus are monitoring Norton-Cuffy closely as they look to sign a new wing-back for coach Igor Tudor. The former Croatia international has not been convinced by Joao Mario and has instead used Pierre Kalulu on the right flank as a temporary measure.”

If Juventus sign him, Arsenal could pocket a useful transfer bonus.

Newcastle Close to Landing Ross Wilson

Newcastle United are close to signing Ross Wilson from Nottingham Forest as their new sporting director. Wilson is currently in talks to leave Forest and join Eddie Howe’s team.

The Telegraph reports: “Newcastle United are close to appointing Ross Wilson as their new sporting director in a significant capture for manager Eddie Howe. Wilson is in advanced talks to leave Nottingham Forest, where he is the club’s chief football officer, to take a similar position at Newcastle. He is set to officially start work at Newcastle next week if talks continue to progress. The Scot’s exit from Forest, after a spell of more than 2½ years, represents an untimely blow to the club and owner Evangelos Marinakis. Forest must now look to replace Wilson, and his departure will be a disappointment.”

This move would mark an important step in Newcastle’s long-term planning.

Endrick Eyes January Loan Move

Young forward Endrick could leave Real Madrid on loan in January. Limited playing time has forced him to consider other options. He wants more minutes to strengthen his World Cup hopes.

The Athletic states: “People familiar with his situation at Madrid told The Athletic that Alonso explained to Endrick it was going to be difficult for him to have regular playing time in this season’s new-look team, but he decided to stay at the Bernabeu anyway. The lack of opportunities with Madrid and absence from recent Brazil squads mean those closest to Endrick are sticking to their initial plan: to review his situation in January so he has the best chance of making the World Cup squad. That could see him go out on loan for the second half of this season if necessary to get the playing time he needs.”

A loan move could help him play more and return sharper for Real Madrid.
